Etablished as a registered charity in 1998 Computer Aid International exists to professionally refurbish donated computer equipment from UK companies, institutions and individuals for re-use in schools and community organisations in developing countries.
The main policies, objectives and activities for the year continued to be the provision of computer equipment to schools in Africa.
The objects for which the SCL is established are to further the sound development, administration and knowledge of and education in the law and in particular but only in so far as the same shall further the aforesaid object:- .to promote the study of and research into the law as it relates to electronic communications and other aspects of information and technology and to disseminate the results thereof to the public and the legal profession; .to advance the education of the public and the legal profession in information technology law being mainly the implications of information technology and communications technology as applied to the law; .to seek to promulgate best practice and experience in connection with all aspects of IT related law, advice and contract negotiation; .to promote the use and development of information technology systems applied to the law for the benefit of the public and the legal profession; .to promote the establishment of electronic legal information retrieval systems; .to monitor the specification and performance of electronic legal retrieval systems on behalf of the public and the legal profession; .to collaborate with bodies having similar objectives in the United Kingdom or elsewhere.
A) TO PROMOTE THE EFFICIENCY OF CHARITABLE ORGANISATION S BY THE PROVISION OF COMPUTER SERVICES, SUPPORT AND TRAINING AND IN SO FAR AS THE CHARITY CONSIDERS IT FURTHERS THE CHARITABLE PURPOSE TO PROVIDE SUCH SUPPORT TO OTHER VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM OR THE WORLD. B) TO RELIEVE PERSONS WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED OR HARDSHIP OR WHO ARE AGED OR SICK AND TO RELIEVE THE DISTRESS CAUSED THEREBY IN SUCH PARTS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM OR THE WORLD AS THE TRUSTEES MAY FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT. C) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES BY SUCH MEANS AS THE TRUSTEES MAY CONSIDER APPROPRIATE IN SUCH PARTS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM OR THE WORLD AS THE TRUSTEES MAY FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT.
TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR DISABLED PEOPLE BY PROVIDING COMPUTER EQUIPMENT FOR AN ANNUAL CHARGE, TO ENABLE COMPUTER TRAINING TO BE UNDERTAKEN IN THE DISABLED PERSON'S OWN HOME.
THE OBJECTS OF THE GROUP ARE TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION AND TRAINING OF YOUNG PERSONS AND ADULTS AT UNIVERSITY SCHOOLS AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE FIELD OF COMPUTERS, MICRO-PROCESSORS AND OTHER RELATED EQUIPMENT IN THE BENEFICIAL AREA.
A) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUPILS IN SCHOOLS IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES BY PROVIDING AND ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF COMPUTERS RECYCLED FROM UK SCHOOLS, HEALTH SERVICES AND BUSINESSES. B) TO PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC THE CONSERVATION PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT BY RECYCLING AND SAFE DISPOSAL OF COMPUTERS WHEN THEY BECOME IRREPARABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION AND BY PUBLICISING TO SCHOOLS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC THE NEED TO CONSERVE AND PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT
The principal activity of the charity during the year continues to be the provision of information, support, advice and consultancy services on the use of Information Technology in education and training.
BCS's objectives are prescribed by the Royal Charter; the main objective is 'to promote the study and practice of computing and to advance the knowledge and education therein for the benefit of the public'.
The object of the Charity is the advancement of the education of Primary School Children in Kenya.
OUR AIM IS TO ASSIST IN THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE EDUCATION OF PUPILS IN THE SCHOOL IN PARTICULAR BY DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE STAFF, PARENTS AND OTHERS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SCHOOL. BY ENGAGING IN ACTIVITIES WE AIM TO PROVIDE FACILITIES OR EQUIPMENT WHICH SUPPORT THE SCHOOL AND ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUPILS. THE WISH LIST FOR THE SCHOOL IS ENDLESS ESPECIALLY AS A NEW BUILDING IS PLANNED FOR NURSERY AND RECEPTION CHILDREN. SOME MODERN EQUIPMENT SUCH AS PORTABLE WIRELESS COMPUTERS HAS BEEN PURCHASED AND WE HAVE PLEDGED £4000 PER YEAR FOR 4 YEARS TO ASSIST WITH THAT PURCHASE. WE HAVE MADE 2 PAYMENTS TO DATE. THE COMPUTERS HAVE MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE TO THE CHILDREN AS THEY NO LONGER REQUIRE TO WAIT TO USE AN IT ROOM, INSTEAD THEY HAVE COMPUTERS IN THEIR OWN CLASSROOMS. MORE COMPUTERS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE LOWER SCHOOL NOW.
TO ASSIST AND ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF MENTALLY AND PHYSCIALLY HANDICAPPED CHILDREN OF THE MEMBERS BY THE PROVISION OF COMPUTER FACILITIES FOR SUCH CHILDREN AND TO FOSTER A GREATER PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE BENEFITS OF COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY IN THE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.
TO SOLICIT AND RECEIVE COMPUTERS AND OTHER INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY EQUIPMENT, AND TO SUPPLY THEM FREE OF CHARGE TO EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS IN NEED OF SUCH EQUIPMENT. TO PROVIDE (WHERE POSSIBLE) TRAINING, EDUCATION, RESEARCH, SOFTWARE AND ANY OTHER SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT RELEVANT THERETO. TO ADVANCE THE AVAILABILITY OF SURPLUS, REDUNDANT, OBSOLETE OR OTHERWISE UNNEEDED, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY EQUIPMENT TO EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS. (B) TO IMPROVE THE AVAILABILITY OF ALL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY EQUIPMENT AND ASSOCIATED PRODUCTS AND SERVICES TO EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS. (C) TO PROVIDE FREE OF ANY CHARGES HELP AND ADVICE IN ALL ASPECTS CONCERNING THE PROVISION OF COMPUTER AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TO EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS.

Cambridge OnLine was set up in the mid 1990s by a small group of local people who wanted to increase public access to computers and the internet. The charity's main aim now is to help disabled and disadvantaged people by providing free computer access and computer training. Each week, over 1000 people benefit from our work.
The relief of people with physical disabilities by the provision of one-to-one training in voice-activated computer software. Our training provides clients, who have difficulty with or cannot use a computer keyboard or mouse, the knowledge to use their voice to operate computer software via a microphone headset. They learn how to dictate in text, punctuation, numbers and activate the menu bar in Microsoft Word.
The company's objectives are to promote the benefit of the residents of the Yorkshire and Humber regions (the "area of benefit") in particular but not exclusively young people, without distinction of race, sex or political, religious or other opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organizations and individuals in a common effort to provide educational, cultural, social, welfare, training, recreational and leisure time facilities, with the aim of improving the conditions of life for young people.
